Marsh Fence just installed a new side fence for us and we are very pleased. From the first contact with the estimator to working with Dave (the builder) and his co-​worker Tito cannot be happier with the great looking fence without a mess being created or left and how quick they completed the job. If you’re looking for lattice work or new fencing you should give this company a call, you won’t be sorry!

I LOVE our new fence. Marsh Fencing did a wonderful job;taking out the old rotten fence and installing a spanking new redwood picket fence with two gates! They really made an effort to get the job done early, as the old fence was ready to fall. The workers came on time, did what they had to do, and left our yard and area clean of any debris. The fence is perfectly straight and compliments our house, making it look well kept. Kudos Marsh Fencing.

The front office experience here is very Comcast-​y… Think third-​party messaging services during business hours, phone tag, and scheduling mayhem. But when you finally see how professionally the work is done, all is forgiven. That’s how good the work is. Marsh is a fence and deck building machine. Thank you, Leo, Ramon, David, and John.

Marsh Fence and Deck are amazing. They were really easy to work with, very responsive and were available to come out and replace my fence almost immediately. The quality of work was excellent. In addition, when I noticed that a latch on the old fence wasn’t moved to the new fence, they came out to install a new one and didn’t merely «check the box», but installed it in a very functional and aesthetically pleasing way. And, they refused to charge me for it, even at my insistence. I would highly recommend them.

Marsh was professional and efficient from estimate to completion. Highly recommended.
My only minor complaint is that communication with the office can be a little hit and miss.

The latch hardware Marsh used was too light for the gate and started failing within months. It failed completely the other day. Marsh took a day to respond, and I had the gate held shut with a cinder block. So, I installed a heaver latch and some stops on the gate to share the load. However, the gate should have been built with stops. Had the latch failed in a storm, it would have been ugly!
Sent Marsh a email with pictures of the failure, saying I had made the fixes but thought they should know about the issue. Received a response saying they would be happy to send an estimator out. ???
The review went from 4 stars to 2. If all you do is fences and decks, you gotta get it right the first time (or at least hustle to make it right if you don’t)!

Outstanding company to work with. We had about 300 feet of fencing constructed by Marsh Fence and Deck in November 2015. The fence is not only beautiful and perfectly plumb, it was built to last using high quality materials and excellent construction practices. A huge crew of men came out and built a complex fence with multiple gates in three days to our exact specifications. From Stephanie at reception, to John Marsh who answered so many of our questions, to the outstanding crew, we just couldn’t ask for a better experience when having a fence built. Every appointment was kept, and everyone showed up on time and the work was completed as promised. We couldn’t be happier with our fence and when a project is completed so smoothly, we are able to enjoy it all the more. Thank you, Marsh Fence and Deck!

These guys did fantastic work from beginning to end. They broke down the initial estimate to make it easier for each neighbor to share the cost. Other local companies do not do that. We had a board on board fence with square lattice installed and it’s a beauty. Someone’s already driven by, took pictures and split. That car had a bunch of lattice in the back — he wanted to copy the look! We also had a note left on our door from another local asking who built our fence. They said it was beautiful. I called them and they coincidentally had an appointment with Marsh the next day. Great choice! Thanks Mister Marsh!

Alright. Got the job done. Wished the filled more cement on this one particular area on the post. They got our fence completed in one day.

We got a couple quotes from other fence pros. Marsh wasn’t the least expensive, but was «in the range» and took more time to clearly understand the job, and even came back to speak with us again to make sure they got it right. We felt confident they were going to do a good job. Communication was good, but wasn’t perfect with the job foreman on one issue, but my wife noticed it — the fence was going to be coming too close to the tree we were trying to protect from deer — and they remedied the problem. The fence looks and feels to be very good quality. As I said, it wasn’t the least expensive option, but they did a good job of finding some ways to reduce the cost for us — they suggested 6′ instead of 8′ given we were on a decent incline, and the fence was primarily to protect a couple fruit trees from deer. Looks like quality workmanship.

Marsh Fence has put in two of our fence on two different properties. One of them a medium fence and one only a 15ft. fence. They both were spectacular. From big to small projects, they were done with quality work. The wood they used are high grade redwood. John, the owner, was always calling back when we had questions and changes. Even when we had some annoying changes, he was always listening and helping us out. And the price? You cannot find anyone who can beat their prices for the quality of work they provide. Would definitely recommend to anyone would needs a superb fence for a phenomenal price. A++++++++

We had a 300 Sq ft redwood deck and fencing on both sides done in 2 days, start to finish. We could hardly believe it. The workmanship is also top notch.
The entire experience with this contractor was excellent, from estimating to scheduling to the actual work.
The cost was also an excellent value for the quality of work and the speed at which it was done.

I had Marsh fence put in 60 feet of redwood «Good Neighbor» style fence at the back of my home’s lot. They did an excellent job. The fence looks great, they started on the day scheduled, it took just a little over a day to complete, and it cost exactly what they estimated.
They seem like a very busy contracting company, so you will probably have to leave a message, but they will get back to you. I’m glad I left a message, and I would definitely use them again.

I found Marsh Fence and Deck on Unilocal and they have been excellent. I called and they responded immediately and I got an estimate, which they told me would be good for one month. When I finally called I got an appointment for the backyard fence to be done but it was for 5 weeks later. They explained that they were extremely busy
They arrived promptly on the appointment date with 11 workers. They took down my old fence, hauled everything away and some additional fencing that my husband had already taken down. They installed one entire fence, a retaining wall with a fence, and 2 new gates. One the second day, one guy showed up and finished up the work. I
My husband and I are extremely pleased with out new fence and the speed with which they completed the work. They cleaned everything up and took away everything.
We will certainly call them again when it’s time for our deck to be repaired.

The owner John came to estimate ²⁄₃ of the fence replacement in our backyard. His crews came 2 weeks later to install and finished the fence in 1 day. Very professional. Even I need them to came back for a minor fix. It’s was quick and pro.
Long story short… base on our good experience with them the 1^st time… so we called Marsh fence again on the last week of July to estimate the last ¹⁄₃ of our fence that we share with neighbor (split the cost). Dave came and gave us a quote that are 70% of what we paid but this time is half the length shorter than the 1^st job?! Its doesn’t sound right! We even called them again to verifiy the quote because it’s been only 3 months apart. How price can be that much different? I don’t know! I guess it’s seasonal!
I wish I can use them again but it’s just cost too much for a small portion of the fence.

John, the owner came about two weeks ago to give me an estimate on a good neighbor fence. He came about 45 minutes early so I didn’t actually get to talk to him, but fortunately, my wife was home. His estimate was clear and reasonable. I showed the estimate to my neighbor then let John know it was a «go». We set a date, his men showed up as promised, tore down the old fence, dug post holes, set the posts 2.5 feet down in cement, and had the fence constructed before 5:00 pm. They even did some minor repairs on another part of my neighbors fence and didn’t charge him.
I know from experience that Marsh Fence stands behind their work. My son purchased a new house in Menlo Park about 6 years ago and Marsh had contracted the fence around three sides of his house. There were issues with one of the gates and Marsh went out and repaired it, no questions asked.
If you want a good looking fence done correctly at a reasonable price with 100% backing, call Marsh Fence!

I can’t say enough good things about Marsh! I was in a really bad situation where my fence needed to be replaced with in 4 days. I called Marsh on Thursday, set an appointment for a quote on Friday, John (owner) came exactly on time and had the quote to me within 15 minutes which allowed me to get to work on time. I called John directly and asked if its possible to have the fence put in the very next day (Saturday). John was able to rally his troops and had them to my house by 8am Saturday morning. Everything was removed and replaced (100+ feel fence line) by 4pm that same day including custom double fence doors. I love my new fence and the price was under my budget which is great! I can’t wait for them to do the other side of my house.
