Stoneham Ford

I’m giving this 1 star because zero stars aren’t an option.
To sum up:
1. They didn’t let me know of all the hidden costs they’d be ripping me off with
2. They didn’t get back to me for ages
3. They basically ignored my calls and kept sending me to corporate in the hopes that I’d go away
4. They DIDN’T FIX THE PROBLEM THAT I PAID ALL THE MONEY FOR THEM TO FIX
The details:
My husband purchased his car here and had a passable experience. So one day when I started up my car to go to work, and the check engine light came on, I figured I’d go down the road to Stoneham Ford. Big, big mistake.
Let’s start by saying that the ultimate reason that my car was having problems was due to a recall that NO ONE told me about. No notice, no email, no flyer in the mail, nothing. So I get it down to the shop and they told me that because I didn’t have an appointment (didn’t know I needed one, but okay) they couldn’t guarantee when they could see my car. But that they’d put my paperwork in the «emergency» pile and get to it ASAP since I couldn’t drive it over 20mph and it was not shifting gears. Super unsafe! Since I have an extended protection plan, they said we’ll rent you a car (which was supposed to be covered under my EPP) and look at mine as soon as possible. Great. Call me when it’s ready.
No calls. For over a week. I finally called them, and the person who answered «wasn’t working on my paperwork» so had to leave a message. No call back.
I called again. Left a message. Finally got a call back a week and a half after I dropped my car off. Their response as to why they hadn’t called me? «I guess we wrote your number down wrong». Never mind that I had been there once before, and that they had my correct number THAT time. I guess they erase phone numbers after a customer walks out of the shop?
Anyway, I finally picked up my car 15 days after dropping it off. And then they wanted to charge me ALMOST $ 600 FOR THE RENTAL CAR. On top of the $ 129 for the actual service ($ 100 deductible for my EPP to fix some random problem they «found»… Yeah, okay). WHAT A SCAM! I complained that this work should be covered under the recalls and my EPP, to which the response was, «you’ll have to take that up with corporate». Because OF COURSE I will. After another two weeks of being tossed back and forth between corporate and Stoneham Ford, they refunded me about 10% of my overall costs. Are you kidding me? What am I paying extra money for every month, if you’re going to rip me off anyway?
The best part? They didn’t fix the problem. The car acted up two days later and I couldn’t drive it to work. And I took it to Acton Ford, and they fixed it in FOUR HOURS and confirmed that it was the SAME PROBLEM that Stoneham Ford claimed to have fixed. (By the way — Acton Ford also said «we’ll make sure we get you a rental that’s totally covered under your EPP», not «oh, sure we’ll give you a rental… for $ 600»).
NEVER GO HERE. Worst experience ever. If it weren’t for Acton Ford being so much better, I’d be turned off Fords for life.

This place does nothing but take advantage of its loyal customers… My dad has been a loyal customer at this location for 15+ years, he seems to think they are honest, certified, super techs. He doesn’t think they would cheat he at all, until recently. Our truck has been there countless times, twice in the last month and it has NEVER been CHEAP. The last time we brought our truck in was for a check engine light that they did fix, ended up being a fuel pump issue… The truck came back to us with transition slippage. This truck has never had any transmission problems but after a very expensive visit at stoneham ford it did, we brought the truck back in, never mentioning that we suspect they caused the issue, and we where told that it would be 5 – 6 thousand dollars to fix. We have had 6 ford vans and trucks but this should be the last one. We are not even going to fix the issue. Just getting a new truck and never returning to ford again… This place is full of crooks who think they are auto doctors. A doctor wouldn’t purposely create a heart attack to get the patent back in for surgery.
Every visit we have ever had at stoneham ford has been crazy expensive. Even during an oil change they will attempt to make you pay for other stuff…
DONT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF YOUR CAR/​TRUCK AT THIS PLACE!!! THEY WILL CAUSE PROBLEMS TO DRUM UP VISITS.

I brought a new car there a few months ago.
Good things: the saleman, Brian was honest and let me shop at my own pace. Their rebate beated other shops. They cleaned the car (upon my request) and refilled the gas to full before gave the car.
Bad things: They did not pay enough attention for small details. For example, they added around 50 miles to my car after I paid everything and was waiting for them to finish the paperwork and inspection. After decided to buy the car, I noticed there was some damage in the front bumper. I had to wait for them to repair those first. Also, They refused to let me test drive it due to my international driver license. Eventually, they allowed to sit down while one of their guys in the driver seat but it was cut short. Last but not least, the car had been in the parking lot for a few months, there were rust around the front wheel rotors that looked bad.

Worst place to buy a car. sales was good but service is horrible. I bought my car April 2013, it has been in for a recall on the shift gear once but then 5 more times, it seems like every 2 months it is getting replaced. I called corporate office but they said it’s the transmission in the car and it will be a reoccuring issue. I’m so mad I spent so much money on a lemon… DON’T BUY A FORD!!!

This place has the most god awful customer service in their service department and the service tax do not know what they’re doing. They strip every single lug nut on my boyfriends car tires when they did a service on it. It was so bad not even triple A could get it off and whole car had to be towed. When we called them to let them know that they had stripped the lug nut all they would do was give 5 free lug nuts and some money off of a new tire even though they strip all 20 lug nuts. I have also read reviews where they overfill fluids in vehicles so clearly their technicians don’t know what they’re doing and the managers don’t back up the work or the quality of the work. The sales may be nice but that is there a job the thing that really speak loudly for a dealership is how they serve as your vehicle and this place service is god awful by your car somewhere else do yourself a favor and give your money to a company that will take care of your car long after you signed the sales receipt

If I could have given 0 stars, I would. Their customer service is horrendous. The only reason I went to this place was because JN Philips damaged my windshield wipers when they replaced my wind shield and I was told to bring the car to Stoneham Ford (apparently they have a relationship). The electrical portion of the problem was fixed, but as soon as it rained, we realized the wipers didn’t actually make contact with the windshield. I made another appointment to have it fixed (again) and to have some recall work done at the same time. My driver (this is a business vehicle) just came back and the wind shield wipers were never fixed. The service guy told him there was no record of it being needed (even though I had specifically asked for it to be fixed when I made the appointment). A few days prior to this appointment my driver got a flat tire and bent the rim. I called (since the van was going in anyways) to see if they could do that too. They said sure, but I would have to talk to «parts» to find out the estimated cost. When I was transferred to the parts guy, he told me he needed a VIN to give me any price. I didn’t have the VIN on me and I asked since the vehicle has been there before, maybe he could look up the info. He very gruffly said no and that if I couldn’t give him the VIN, he couldn’t give me a price. I will never visit this service department again!

If I had to give 10 stars I would give Ford Stoneham fine service. The seller Geovani and note 10 thank this agency vehicle I approve

Stoneham Ford was very helpful to me when a nearby Nissan dealer was not. I was able to sell my car to them for a reasonable price, while the Nissan dealer was REALLY low balling me on the car as a trade in. Doug P at Stoneham was very straight forward, and very responsive. He helped me through a very straight forward transaction, and was even able to arrange for me to do it on a weekend day when he was not there. I saved about $ 8000 by dealing with these guys. I would not hesitate to call on them again for anything; I see them as honest and straight forward, which are qualities that I have not always found in that industry!

Went there to buy a 2014 Ford Focus hatchback. They gave me a fair trade for my car and did not push any additional options after I made it clear I wasn’t interested. The sales process was quick and easy, unlike Boch Honda. Highly recommended. Ask for Wayne Previdi.

Rich Silvestor helped me buy a nice used Ford Fusion. He was very knowledgable and was quick to be competitive with the other dealerships around here. I was fully confident with Rich’s advice that the car I was buying was the best buy for me. I will definitely return here to buy again.

I’m only giving one star because I can’t give zero. I own a 2012 Mustang and have been to Stoneham Ford twice now for service, and let me say that both experiences have been nothing short of disappointing.
My first visit earlier this year was to replace a sway bar under warranty. When I went to pick up my car, I found myself with a $ 100 bill for 12,000 mile maintenance with a high-​test oil change. Great stuff, except I never requested any of it. After contesting the bill with the manager, he seemed adamant that I had indeed asked for it and I was being billed appropriately. Of course, when I asked him to provide the paperwork showing I had done just that, he conveniently couldn’t find it.
My second visit is still unresolved unfortunately. I brought my car in a couple weeks ago because my rims were peeling clear-​coat and needed to be replaced. Three of the four wheels were peeling, and once they were approved by Ford to be replaced under warranty, I was told they had been ordered and should be in about 3 – 5 days. Nine days later without a call, I decided to call you myself. Turns out they had come in four days prior. No one felt like calling me I guess. No big deal, except my car can’t be taken for another 5 days. Just more time spent waiting. Awesome.
So I finally drop my car off and they tell me it will take a day. So all day goes by and so far no word from Ford. At 5:30, I decide to call myself. Lo and behold, it’s been ready the whole time! So I get down to there and check out my car before going inside, and wouldn’t you know it, the wrong wheels had been replaced. My rear left wheel was the only one without peeling clear-​coat, and they left the rear right one on. Just a simple mistake right? Turns out someone wrote down incorrectly which wheels needed to be replaced. Simple mistake right? Except it could have been completely avoided it anyone had bothered to double check which wheels were defective. So at this point I ask to see the wheels so I can tell them which one is the right one to go back on. When I see the wheels, they’re totally destroyed. So now another wheel has to be ordered and I have to waste more time.
Even though I have to reluctantly return for this to be corrected, you can be certain Stoneham Ford has lost my business for good. I’ve seen nothing but lack of attention to detail and dishonesty. Extremely disappointing, avoid this place.

This review conflicts me. I have been going to Stoneham Ford for Oil Changes and their Quick Lane service for some time. My family has been going to them for even longer for both service, repairs, and inspection stickers. Up until this year, I never really had a problem. However, back in the winter of 2013, I took my girlfirend’s ’99 Toyota Camry for the ULTIMATE maintenance package, that is a routine oil change, tire and break inspection, and check/​leveling off of fluids through the Quick Lane.
Afterward, I was driving to Saugus to meet up with my lady, when I noticed a huge slick of oil trailing behind me. I pulled over and checked the oil, only to find that I was all but out! The near-​entirety of my motor oil had leaked out over the course of about a half hour! This was not just some minor drip of a leak. Furious, I travelled to the nearest Gas Station to refill my oil in hopes that I could make it back to Stoneham Ford without creating permanent damage to the engine. Once I returned to the dealer, the lady at the desk was extremely understanding and wrote me a gift certiciate for what she said was a free oil change and reimbursement for the oil I purchased (roughly $ 50 in total). The leak was apparently due to a faulty gasket on the oil filter. Contrary to my girlfriend, who was incredulous that this could’ve happened, I was satisfied with the result. No harm, no foul, right?
However, the next time I went for an oil change, I realized I shouldn’t have been so forgiving. After my oil change, the man (not the lady this time) at the desk took my gift certificate and simply said have a nice day. In short, my oil change was the EXACT same value as the gift certificate (roughly $ 50) I received a few months before. Huh?! So much for the reimbursement for my oil… Meh, very disappointing.
Won’t be going back here for routine maintenance.

I just picked up my brand new car from Stoneham Form yesterday. I had a great experience there I went in on Saturday after spending the morning unsuccessfully shopping for a car, and Rich Silvestri started our process of looking at a Ford Focus. He’s a great salesman, and at no point did I feel pressured or like I was being taken for a ride. There is a real family feel to Stoneham Ford too. They were great working with us for the price, and gave me a good deal for my trade in. I had to wait for my insurance to be able to pick up my car, but when I went back yesterday, everything was ready. Rich even turned up the seat warmers, which was great with all the snow. He walked me through everything in the car, and even helped me sync my phone to the car. Ford offers great services and is very friendly, I’d definitely go back!

Have had easy great service at the quick lane until today. Called service Monday asked about coming in for my 10000mile maintenance and for them to check my door handle that has been sticking. Man I spoke with said it’d be no problem everything can be handled at the quick lane and gave me the hours. Went to the quick lane, explained to the kid I needed my oil change, maintenance visit, and asked if he could check out my door. He said no problem, I understand it was busy, very busy at the end of the night. But when your joking around in the garage that there are windows I can watch you work through, and you tell me everything’s all set. I got home to a sticky door handle that clearly was not even looked at. I didn’t lease my car from stoneham and I won’t be bringing my car back for service because of the poor customer service.

Went in to buy two trucks… waited 10 minutes for a sales person while three guys sat around Bs’ing behind the desk… asking each other in front of me who wants to help me. Finally they send out this ball of fire named Mike. I was there for about 30 minutes, he said about eight words in total.
Trade in values were less than half of KBB trade in. All together thought the experience really sucked, especially considering the trades I had came from them and were serviced by them!
Oh well…

I had a fantastic experience at Stoneham Ford. My car died on me on Monday and I had a brand new car Thursday morning, hassle free. I had been looking at the Ford Focus online, then got a call from a representative at Stoneham after I requested a price quote from a local dealer. We arranged a test drive and visit for the following day. I arrived and Rich, (ask for Rich if you go — he’s fantastic!) took care of it all. I had X-​Plan pricing, so the pricing of the car was unusually smooth, but at no time did I ever feel pressured or uncomfortable. I felt like Rich just wanted me to get a car I wanted. In fact, after we initially looked at and settled on the vehicle price, they actually lowered the price after finding an updated invoice and incentives. I can’t say enough about how efficiently and smoothly the process went. I left Wednesday evening with most of all the paperwork and financing set up, then came back Thursday to pick up the car — registration, inspection, etc. all taken care of. Rich even picked me up from the Oak Grove T station since I couldn’t get a ride to the dealership. Rich was a great salesman to work with and I would definitely go back to Stoneham Ford again.

First off, I’d like to say that the sales staff was great when we bought our car a couple of years ago. The problem is that it had gone downhill since. We have brought our car in for service several times and they always seem disorganized. The final straw was when we had our car in last week and the service adviser was downright rude and uncooperative. I’d highly recommend not bringing your car here for service!

This review is for the car rental area only.
It is great to have a place that is reasonably priced for a quick car rental right in my own town.
They aren’t super friendly but they are efficient and when I’m in a hurry, that is all that matters, really.

The car buying process was not pleasant for me — until I went to Stoneham Ford. They were very professional from the start and NOT pushy — which is key for car dealerships. They didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t want/​need. I told them what I was looking for and they made it happen.
When I test drove a 2009 Ford Fusion, it was a little more than I needed in the fancy department. A couple of days later I found an 08 Ford Fusion at one of their sister locations and the brought it down for me and made the process seamless.
My sales rep, Mike G. was awesome. He listened to all my ridiculous questions and answered everyone of them.
If you want a hassle free car buying process and you want to buy a car from Ford (who did not take money from the government) head to Stoneham Ford.
