If you want a hairstylist that actually has your best interest in heart, get your haircut here! First of all, he does great work at a really reasonable price. That’s already enough said. What’s even better is he’s a really fun person to talk to, so seeing him is like seeing a friend that also does a great job cutting your hair. Tips for for first timers, note that he only does dry cutting– meaning he doesn’t wash your hair before hand, so you won’t have any surprises when you hair dries up from a wet cut like at regular saloons. I also alway pays in cash, so you may want to ask him about payment method beforehand, but there are quite a few banks in the area, so I wouldn’t worry. Also his place in the gas building, ask the lobby person for his place and they will direct you to his floor :)

Steve is a very observant and detail hair stylist. His talented skill had saved my hair. And also like his artwork a lot.

Called two times and no answer. Walked to the apt where hair was cut and knocked on the door four times… Still no answer. I heard him inside with his dog. Walked to supercuts. No regrets.

Best haircut ever. It’s really amazing what a man can do with literally just a pair of scissors. It looked like I magically had a blowout, but he didn’t use a single appliance on me. The best part, my hair actually looked better the next day! After I washed it! Was truly shocked & happy. He really gave me the best haircut for my hair & face.
He and his makeup artist wife are both super talented & have successful careers outside this salon. Loved his two adorable sleeping pups. Also very much appreciated the non-​judgement on the neglected hair & zero pressure to get more frequent cuts & color.

I’m so in love with my new haircut by Steve David!!! I went from belly button length to a little passed my shoulder so I was obviously nervous about the major change but I literally could not be happier with how it turned out. He really knows what he’s doing and I’m so happy I found him through great Unilocal reviews that I thought I ought to pay it forward. Go see him, you will not be sorry!

I love my hair but have been wanting it to be thinner (the scourge of thick hair: it’s heavy and takes so long to dry). Steve made my hair so much lighter and a hundred times sexier! I swear, I even wake up with a sexy bedhead.
Other things I liked:
+Steve is not greedy! With his caliber and experience he could easily charge hundreds but he doesn’t.
+He knows his stuff. I learned a lot about hair, how to care for it, what makes a good haircut, and even some of the salon industry’s dirty little secrets ;)
+No products at all were pushed on me. He only suggested that I get baby powder ($ 4), or Tresemme dry shampoo ($ 5) and Loreal hair spray ($ 15). I got the hairspray at Target and I love it.
+He’s an artist. Drop by his studio and you will see some of his works (the wigs made of safety pins are my favorite).
+He can tell whether you’re left or right handed just by looking at your hair (haha)
+/​-​His studio is not a pet-​free environment. The 2 dogs are so cute and very well-​behaved though!

I have been going to Steve for a few years now. He is amazing at knowing exactly what you want in a haircut. This evening I left his place after getting a haircut and as I got into the elevator there was a beautiful girl in it. First thing she said was «nice hair» we are going out this week. Litterally left Steve’s place and got a date in the elevator becuse of the hair. Now that’s a haircut! He’s a magic maker with the scissors. He’s got great taste you will love the steve david haircut!

Steve has been cutting my hair for over three years. I love him and he always makes my hair look great and he knows what will look good for your face and body! He also cuts my husband’s hair! We come all the way from Irvine in Orange County– he is amazing!

Steve is a ROCK STAR!!! I have gone to him twice and each time to try on a different look and he pulls it off effortlessly. During the first trip, I was wondering why he prefers to see your dirty and unwashed hair but I learnt that it makes it easier for him to understand what your hair looks and feels like on every other day. I thought that was brilliant. I love how he is very practical and down to earth. Since going to him, my hair has been super easy to maintain and it looks especially great when I get out of bed. No more bad hair days for me.

Steve is a hair artist first and foremost. He looked at my (lackluster) newly cropped hair and took the time to fix/​transform it into something much more amazing. It’s truly the most versatile hair style I’ve ever been given in my life. I now have ‘hair options’ which is like a first — up or down, pompadour or feathery chic — the hair falls right into place each time.
Seriously, I have a new obsession with my hair thanks to him.

if you want to get compliments on you’re hair, Steve David is the stylist for you. his knowledge of hair, cutting and styling is unbelievable. he creates the perfect look to uniquely suit your face and personality. for a high in demand celebrity and editorial stylist, he is ridiculously affordable.

I had my first cut with Steve today and I couldn’t have been happier. I’ve never felt like I’ve had such a personalized haircut ever as I did today. When I told him what I wanted he asked me numerous times if I was sure instead of just doing it like other stylists. He’s very creative too and really tries to come up with a look specialized for you. On top of that, he’s really experienced and I know he can charge a crap load but he’s not cocky like that. He’s very affordable for what he offers.

Steve is by far the BEST hair ARTIST I’ve ever met and been too! I’m beyond lucky to get my hair done by him. I’ve never been to someone who listens to what you want, works with you to create the perfect look, and all the while makes you feel like your a model! He works with such passion and precision. To just sit back and watch how he creates is amazing!
After Steve starting cutting my hair I started getting so many compliments and inquiries on who I go to, and how they can get the look. I love to rave about how he does all the magic dry! Very very impressive! And, I still can’t get over how reasonable his rates are! Thanks Steve! Love ya!

Steve is an artist… the kind that is never complacent in his own technique and works with you to create exactly the look you want. He’s that rare stylist that probably cares more about how you look than you do, and listens very well… I drive over an hour in LA traffic every two weeks to see him… Well worth the effort.
