Mac’s Volvo Automotive

My boyfriend took his Volvo (which has now been sold) to macs automotive which is convenient since his office is in Monrovia.
We watched the video of Jim on the Unilocal page and he seemed like a genuinely great and honest guy and we can say without a doubt that the video does a great job of showing who he is and what he can do.
He was really honest with us about diagnosing the problem after he hooked the car up to the computer.
The original problem was that the car gave a warning and then shut off randomly.
He explained that it was a communication error with the car and the computer and said it wasn’t likely to happen again but gave instructions on what to do if it did.
I think he could have easily recommended a ton of bogus repairs like the dealer would but he didn’t. He explained it very well and helped us understand the problem. He was actually more worried about the car’s suspension (it’s someone else’s problem now!)
If you have a Volvo never go to the dealer. Make your way to Mac’s!

Highly recommend coming to Jim for any of your Volvo needs. Friendly, fast, and honest service. I don’t hesitate to bring my 240 for all my repairs.

What a find. We have always had our Volvos serviced at Volvo dealers in the past and always feeling a bit ripped off, then we discovered Mac’s Volvo through a friend and could not be happier. I found this place online and was worried about going in since it was a small shop located at the very end of other mechanic shops. I was greeted by Jim a very nice and honest man, even though I spent a lot fixing up my volvo he was able to offer me a better price compared to others and was extremely honest about the repairs needed. I would recommend anybody that has a Volvo to him if you want to get the best service available

Driving on the highway from LA to Monrovia I noticed the glass on my passenger side mirror was hanging loose. I just happened to drive by Mac’s and saw they serviced Volvo’s so I stopped in to see what he could do. Jim (Mac) was very friendly and helpful. He said it was a good thing I stopped in because had the glass mirror fallen off and broken it could have cost me $ 100 to fix. He glued it back on free of charge and sent me on my way. It is very refreshing to run across someone so helpful and honest, especially being a girl in an unfamiliar neighborhood. If I lived closer I would bring my car there for all my repairs.

We’re all looking for an honest mechanic, someone who wont take advantage of us, specially us women. Believe it or not i have found this @ Mac’s volvo. Jim the owner is one of the nicest people you would meet. And he’s an honest mechanic. He will tell you what’s wrong with your car but will not pressure you to get anything done.
He will give you the choice on getting original Volvo parts for premium price or other parts at a more economical price.
Mac’s Volvo is a great place to take your Volvo, Jim will def take care of you.
