My go to place for any cars. They specializes in European but they will take care of your car no matter what it is. The owner Eli is very thorough and honest. Much cheaper than the dealer’s price with their labor and Eli and his crew does it better than the dealer itself. Will recommend this place 5 star.

My wife brought her father’s Volvo in for various repairs and Eli has always shown very careful care and attention. Some of these problems were very difficult because they were intermittant, but he was none-​the-​less able to clean them up. Even though the shop has «Import» in the name, I brought in my 2003 chevy pickup truck for him to look at. I was thinking about buying a new one, but Eli was able to fix up my truck and get it running like new again. His work is consistently top notch and his prices are reasonable. I am really happy with Poway Import Auto Experts.

George and Eli are amazing. Excellent customer care and gave me logistics on my vehicle and what future necessary actions I needed. Came in for an oil change and they were as swift as possible. Definitely recommend them for any types of service :)

Eli, George, Pam and Team have been servicing my vehicles for about 5 years now.
Words do not capture the great service, knowledge, and value they bring to you. I have been in the hospitality industry for over 34 years. Yes I know little about car mechanics but I do know how to read people and trust, value expert advice.
Unfortunately I am relocating to Texas now and will surely miss Poway Import Auto Experts because in this day of age it can be difficult to find the right help when out of your league.
I have read reviews here and am disappointed to see some clients writing negative comments without even trying to work out the miss communication in person, instead just writing basically anonymous junk.
I for one will always highly endorse this business and team lead by Eli. They have helped me countless times freely over the phone, serviced my vehicles professionally, fairly and moreover made me feel a part of their extended family.

I have been going to Gabi for many, many years. He is kindhearted, unfailingly honest and a doggone good mechanic. His son, Eli, is now in charge. I’m not kidding: I am so grateful I found them in the first place. Listen: they kept my 1986 Dodge running. When I inherited Mom’s car, I was able to give the Dodge to a lady that needed it. Eli and his able staff have kept the «new» car (a 92 Ford Tempo) running like a top. They have never, ever taken advantage of ol’ Gramma Nadya. They will tell you what needs attention right away and what can wait. They are good peeps! I love recommending them HIGHLY! I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

Eli and his entire team are fantastic.
First time I take it in, he does what I needed fixed, and just adds in that he replaced a breather valve for free because he saw it was wearing out. $ 45 part installed for free, not a huge deal, but is nice. A few months later, I have replaced my fuel pump myself, but the car is having problems starting cold, so I call Eli up (the owner), and tell him I want to take it in to replace the fuel filter because I figured it got clogged up, and I didn’t have time to replace it myself.
I tell him whats going on with it, and that I’ll be dropping it off that afternoon, and he proceeds to tell me exactly what the actual problem is, that I would be wasting my money by having him do it, and that I should just do it myself because its an easy fix.
So he refused me as a customer and told me exactly how to fix the problem myself. Now that is some damn good customer service. I recommend his shop to anyone in northern San Diego county, because he really does take care of his customers. It’s a shame I’m selling my BMW, because I would definitely take it back there in a heartbeat. Who knows, maybe he’ll work on my new Ford later on down the road.

Stop over paying at the dealership can come here. If you need a great shop to work on your car, this is it! They get your car in right away and have it diagnosed within the day. I have had my 99 4Runner and my wife’s 03 Solara fixed here. They always get the cars fixed right away and the first time. I’m very busy and don’t have time for my car to be down to long. They have been very honest and do not try to up sell you on things you don’t need. But regular maintenance is a must to keep you car going.

Eli and his staff are AWESOME. The quality of work is superb and the customer service is top notch. They go above and beyond what is expected of them and they never disappoint and over deliver every time. I brought my pathfinder in to get some work done on the brakes and they threw in free bulb replacement for one of my tail lights that was out of commission. This is by far the best place for automotive repairs. I haven’t been here for about 2 years because my car has not given me any issues since they fixed it! Kudos to Eli and team. I did just purchase a «new» (used) car so I will be seeing you guys soon.

I am very specific about mechanics, and I do not trust the industry whatsoever. I have a high performance SUV that when maintained well runs like a clock, and without issues. If the maintenance is not done or haphazardly so, parts will break. I needed an immediate check on the drive shaft of my vehicle before I took it on a 2K road trip, because I had been hearing a sound often associated with that part. Eli and the team slid me in, gave me a complementary check, lubricated the drive shaft, and I was on my way. The noise completely subsided and the vehicle performed perfectly on my trip. We talked about differential work down the road, but everything was done, and no outrageous charges. I wish I found this shop earlier and my suggestion is if you have an import, USE THEM as a true and trustworthy mechanic is hard to find.

Eli was HIGHLY recommended by one of our close friends and my husband and I are pretty certain we won’t go anywhere else! They will take care of you here! They go above and beyond with their Customer Service. I know very little about cars and Eli even took the time out of his busy day to explain the issue with our car and how it works. He immediately gains your trust with his knowledge. If you want your car to be properly taken care of then don’t waste your money anywhere else!

I recently took my car in to Poway Imports to take care of a few services to keep my car tuned up. I am a do-​it-​yourself kinda guy mainly so I have a hard time trusting most mechanics. Eli talked me through their equipment and process and made me feel good about trusting them. They have not let me down the 2 times I have used them and have been very fair with their pricing. I definitely recommend poway imports!

Came here when I got my new (used) truck. Eli made sure it was running smoothly and made sure I knew everything he was doing and why. They do a great job and the customer service is fantastic. This is the only place I trust my truck with and I highly recommend it.

Eli and his team are absolutely amazing. Truly fantastic mechanics and service people. Let me tell you why I trust Eli absolutely with my car and all my auto needs:
I got rear-​ended a couple of months ago, and my insurance company insisted that I send the car to one of their certified shops. 3 weeks later, I go to pick up my car on a Saturday, drive it 3 miles, and the engine goes into «safe» mode — meaning it won’t go above 2^nd gear, nor above 25 mph, and sounds like it’s going to explode. I immediately call up the auto shop, and ask them, «Uh… what the hell did you do to my car?» I somehow get it back to that shop, they begin to work on it, and tell me, «We’ll have our mechanics work on it and diagnose the problem today, and give you a call later.»
A few hours later, no call… no call… no call… I finally call them, and discover they’re closed for the day. No call on Sunday. Monday morning rolls around, and I call them, and they say to me, «Oh… uh… our mechanic has the manual out right now, and is figuring out the error codes.»
WHAT??? You’ve pulled up some manual to try to figure out what the codes are saying??? You mean you know so little about European cars that you have to take out a manual? I can perfectly well open up and read a manual myself! What in the world am I paying you for??? It was at that point that it became abundantly clear to me that these guys were absolute clowns, and simply had no idea what they were doing.
At that point, I called Eli. Eli asked me a couple of quick questions: «Did they do any welding?» Answer: Yes. «When they disconnected the battery to do the welding, did they follow A, B, and C procedures?» Answer: I have no idea. Why do you ask? Eli explained to me, «Look, here’s how Mini Coopers work… If they didn’t follow A, B, and C, then I know for certain that they shorted out such-​and-​such component in the engine.»
I immediately had the car towed to Eli. 30 minutes later, Eli identified the $ 20 part that had been shorted out, and the car was ready for pick-​up that day.
What took those clowns 3 days of trying and failing to fix, Eli had diagnosed and completed in 30 minutes. If you’ve got a car that you rely on, why would you trust it in the hands of amateurs? When you go to Eli, you get an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise, as well as a fantastic customer-​service experience.
I can’t recommend Eli highly enough.

I have used Eli and crew since moving to Poway, I am very picky about who touches my cars. For the several times I have used them, they were right up front with what was needed and what it would cost. Eli is particularly well versed on the BMW M3 which if you won one you know that finding a mechanic who is knowledgeable and won’t gouge you it’s difficult. I’m very satisfied and will continue to use them.

I’ve trusted Eli and his team for a few years now. His recent move from Poway Mobil into this larger facility is perfect. Just had my 90k service on my car — timing belt, all other belts, all fluids, spark plugs, filters + front brakes. Very satisfied with the work and how Eli provides personalized care for his customers.

Elias did contact me, and I did reply. I appreciate the follow-​up, but I do stand behind my experience. The technician was definitely doing some up-​selling and did not inform me of the service to be performed before he asked me to pull my car in the garage. I think the owner has a lot at stake and would be honest, but perhaps the technicians need more supervision.
