Spoke with Brian on the phone at about 5:00 pm. Really, just trying to set up an appointment for the next day. Brian said he would stop by later that evening to help me lower door. He stopped by around 9:30 and fixed the door as best he could. A spring was busted and he did not have the parts on hand. He returned later the next day and completed repairs, price was more than fair and reasonable. Highly recommend!

Not sure what all the haters are writing about. Brian was the ONLY company that was honest and did my job with only what needed to be done and didn’t want to upsell me like the other company who wanted to charge me five times as much as what Ace did the necessary work for. Now I have an operational garage door which is in better shape then it was before it was broken. Do not hesitate to call Ace and let Brian and his team work on your garage door.

My mom was frantic over her broken garage door and not being able to close it down all the way before her weekend trip. Thankfully we heard about Ace Garage Doors, and Brian was able to service it that same day. He was professional and efficient in getting the job done. Not to mention, the cost was very reasonable compared to other companies I had looked up. My mom was very happy!
As a side note, Ace has also made generous donations to my kids’ school. What an awesome company! :)

Brian was very helpful. We had gotten an estimate from a competitor (GDS) for $ 700+, and Brian fixed the issue for $ 240. If you are looking for an honest assessment of what is wrong with your garage door, Brian is the person to call.

Armand and Love G — I so agree with all that you said. Below is my experience with the infamous Brian.
I am angry beyond belief. Brian installed a Liftmaster approximately 2 years ago on the single-​car side of a three-​car garage in the residence that I currently rent. I recently purchased a home that has a three-​car garage and asked Brian to uninstall the opener in the rental home and install it on the single side of the new home and to install a new matching Liftmaster on the two-​car side of the new garage. The installation two years ago was completed without any hiccups but this time Brian has failed miserably. He has been a total airhead and on several occasions promised to call within an hour or a day but never called. He left parts for the new garage installation at the rental residence (i.e. wall light, part of the wall mounted remote, etc.) promising he «would take care of it». He never did. He installed the older opener at the new residence on the single side of the garage and then installed the newer opener on the two-​car side. It was only at that time he informed me that the technology has changed in the last two years so that the new opener cannot be synchronized to my two cars since they were pre-​2009 (I think that is the year that he stated to me.) He indicated that I needed some kind of «translator» and that he would take care of it and get back to me to arrange a time that we could meet at the new house to install it. He never did call. He left the job unfinished to include not installing the wall light but instead left it sitting off to the side. He was also going to forget to install the outside keypad until I asked him about it. I have called him several times and he either «promises» me that he will get the needed part and get back to me so that we can arrange a time or he has just not answered his phone and does not return any voicemails. I have gotten to the point that I am feeling like a nag just to get the simple job finished. And that is not fair because I have a whole lot of other things that I need to do to prepare for the move to my new house instead of wasting my time on this simple project that should have been completed. It should also be noted that he indicated a price for parts and labor that I felt his labor price was more than fair so I added an additional $ 60. I guess it serves me right for trying to be fair.

Brian answered when I called about my broken garage door springs at 8 am on a Sunday! In a few hours he was at my house and my door was fixed. He is super friendly and efficient! I highly recommend him.

FLAKE!!! FLAKE!!! FLAKE!!! I’ve used Brian a few times for new garage doors. He did a good job, but after it was done I paid him over the phone and asked for an invoice. I could not get one from him until I threatened to write a bad report on him. This last week I had a tenant of mine call because his garage door had stopped working. I called Brian and he said he would be out on Friday between 12:00 and 2:00. I texted him the address, tenants name and number. My tenant called at 3:00 saying no one showed up. I called Brian and he did not remember he had made the appointment and asked if Saturday would work. I told him to call the tenant to set it up. It was set for Saturday, of course he could not make on Saturday either, and set it up with the tenant for Sunday. On Sunday he didn’t show, didn’t call, nothing on Monday or Tuesday. Obviously we went with someone else. Please do not use this guy unless you like to be lied to over and over again.

Brian came out and fixed my garage door the same day I called, and fixed it (broken spring) within the over-​the-​phone estimate, which was lower than elsewhere. Couldn’t ask for better service.

Brian responded very quickly when my garage door opener wouldn’t function. He was very professional and courteous. He was able to repair my opener without replacing the entire unit. I’ll definitely call again if I need any future repairs.

Don’t be fooled by the various 5 star ratings you see here… this guy is a JERK, DISHONEST LIAR, and a CHEAT.
We contacted Brian for some garage door repairs — a common problem I found on google with our Genie operator — the garage door opener would «click» and not close.
Brian came out while I was at work and charged my wife $ 85 to make a bracket stronger — — COME ON??? if that was really the problem this thing wouldn’t have been working at all — but the problem was intermittent.
The garage door opener now stopped working altogether and made a horrible grinding sound, and he was to come out on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 between 3 – 5. I took time off of work and blocked off my schedule so I could be here — — HE NEVER SHOWED. I called 4 – 5 times and he never answered.
So on Thanksgiving day I called him from a different # and he answered — pretended he didn’t know who I was (Armand from San Marcos — did he get me confused with the other Armands in San Marcos???). This is the same guy who saved my # and always kept me updated???
I told him he flaked on me and he said he didn’t miss any of his appointments — and that he was AT MY HOUSE AND I DIDN’T KNOW IT. Then he said he’d call me the next day because it was Thanksgiving and he was out with his kid. WELL WHAT ABOUT MY WIFE AND 4 TODDLERS THAT CAN’T CLOSE THE GARAGE?
Anyhow, not willing to wait anymore, I called another company to get the job done…
I’ve contacted Brian numerous times and asked for a refund since the service was never provided, and he’s wasted so much of my time. Said he’d mail the check Monday 11÷26… by Weds ¹²⁄₂₈ I called him back, he LAUGHED at me when I told him I wanted my $$ back.
5 minutes later he called me back apologetic, saying his wife had the check ready but they didn’t know my address. Fine, gave him the address. STILL never got the check.
So we go from getting charged $ 85 to pretend to fix a problem, to getting stood up, then being promised a refund and not getting it, then being laughed at for asking for the refund, and again being promised a refund and not getting it.

I’m so glad we chose Ace for our garage door! The price was the best I found and Brian was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I’m embarrassed to say, about a month after this beautiful new garage door was installed I accidentally backed into it bending something on it. Brian came out no problem at all, spent over an hour fixing and was nice enough to tell me that these thing happen. It’s been working perfectly and I know if there is anything I need I can call. I highly recommend Brian & Ace Garage Door.

Needed a new garage door and checked with several garage door companies. Ace was, by far, the most reasonably priced and the owner was knowledgable and easy to work with.
The door has been up for about a month now and I highly recommend contacting Ace if you’re in the market for a new door. You’ll save hundreds!

Very friendly knowledgable and quick and thorough service

If possible I would give Ace a ZERO! (the only other review is from his wife Kate!)The owner Brian was referred to me by my contractor, and I had 3 FULL SIZE garage doors to replace — I’m like 3 customers in one! So did I get great servcie? NO. He showed up late for the appointment, took 3 months to schedule my door installation (these were totally standard doors), and the installation was sloppy at best. One of the doors fell on me because the installer «didn’t realize he hadn’t put the ½» bolt into a wood stud!!! WHAT AN IDIOT. The door weighs about 250lbs included the 4″ spring that fell, hitting my back. Did I even get a «sorry» nope.
Then the owner takes another 2 months to get parts ordered to replace the broken door parts and get it finished. He last excuse was, «It’s just cosmetic at this point» when we reminded him the whole job wasn’t completed. I really can’t believe the crap I put up with and how many calls I made. BTW, he uses the BBB logo on his letterhead! oi
