History

Established in 2000.

Sam, a golden retriever that Rukus and I met at the dog park is responsible for See Spot Sit. Rukus and I would take care of Sam when his Moms traveled. Soon, I was caring for 2 dogs, a cat, and a cockatiel. After giving Sam’s Mom some training advice she said «You should really do this!» I belong with animals… See Spot Sit was born as a pet sitting and dog training business. Unfortunately, two years in I realized I love caring for pets and their people more than trying to get them to understand how to speak to each other. I will continue to learn about dog behavior etc. and share any of my knowledge with whoever wants it.

What can I say? I am so blessed to be able to do something everyday that I LOVE — and I get paid for it. As soon as I was old enough to hold a spoon, I have been tape rolling my clothing… Seriously! Not only have I had dogs since birth, when I was thirteen my mother lent me out to a dog kennel here in San Diego to pay off our tab and voila — instant (and free) dog and cat care/​grooming school. I learned more about animals in those five years of hands on experience than I ever thought I would actually need. Since then, I have given 6 week old puppies and kitties vaccines, insulin shots to dogs and cats, and given countless pills. I am a certified Pet CPR and First Aid Instructor, and will be holding classes for my clients in the near future.

See Spot Sit is an amazing dog walking and dog sitting service. We have been utilizing their services for over a year because they come right to our apartment. It’s wonderful because our fur babies don’t have to get stressed out being in a different environment. We have worked primarily with Carrie and Nikki and they are both so friendly, professional, and accommodating to our crazy schedules. They take the time to come and meet the pups and get to know how they are at home. They leave these adorable notes every time they visit and make it very apparent they love and care for our pups as if they were their own while we are out.
I would highly recommend See Spot Sit to anyone who would prefer to keep their dogs «at home» while they need to travel. I trust and appreciate everything they do!

I’ve been using See Spot sit for a year and a half for dog walking when I make day trips out of town for work and aren’t able to walk my dog Luna myself. Carrie and team are wonderful and truly care about your pet! Scheduling over email is super-​easy and responses generally within a day for non-​regular service. They leave a note after every walk telling my how Luna did, which I greatly appreciate. I treat my dog like a member of my family and it’s wonderful to know that when I can’t be there, she’s in good hands.

Absolutely LOVE See Spot Sit. I’ve used them for 4 years now and they treat my dog like family. I know because they always tell me how much they love her and my dog is always so excited to see them! After any overnights she is all smiles. After each walk/​sitting the walkers leave a note on the status of the walk and what time they came in and left. The price is very reasonable and they are very accommodating with my crazy schedule. We are very happy to have found them!

I Love this team, and their service. I have a 15 year old senior cat, and I moved to San Diego last year. I have not made enough friends that I would trust to come into my home, and I travel often for work. They take GREAT care of my cat, and its nice to never have to worry!

I have been using See Spot Sit for three years to sit for my kitty, Little Girl. Carrie, Nikki, and the team of sitters are excellent. They have been patient with LG when she is not being social and do not hesitate to do some of the extra requests… like water the plants.
The care they provide allows me to relax and enjoy time away and when I am gone for longer times, they always welcome my request for an email update on how my LG is doing.
I highly recommend this team to anyone needing cat sitting.

I’ve been using See Spot Sit for a couple years now and continue to use them if I will be gone all day or even for short overnight trips. They stop by in the evening and leave my dogs in the house over night and come early the next morning to let them out. (or whatever your instructions might be). They keep a key to my house so it makes coordinating visits quick and easy. My two pups are always in good hands when I need See Spot Sit to come and check in on them. They leave detailed notes about their quick visit, walk and feedings. They are prompt to reply to emails and I can always count on them.

The premier pet sitter in San Diego! I met Carrie nearly 5 years ago for in-​home visits while I travel and my 2 cats have never been happier. Through one cat’s cancer and the other cat’s diabetes, the team at See Spot Sit has provided the best care. We love the team at See Spot Sit! Six months ago we adopted a 10-​year-​old rescue from Second Chance Rescue — a Jack Russel/​Rat Terrier mix named Rocketeer. As we were getting to know Rocket, we weren’t sure of his energy and bathroom needs during the day. We both have full-​time jobs, so coming home every day at lunch to walk him was not always an option.
We were recommended See Spot Sit and they have been a great addition to Rocket’s extended family. They give us peace of mind that a professional will be working with our awesome boy at least two days a week in the middle of the day.
The customer service and communication is fantastic. We love that they leave us a note after each walk. We imagine Rocket would now be fine during the day, but he’s having so much fun — and so are we – with the See Spot Sit team!

Carrie and team are wonderful.
I have two dogs that are very high energy and unfortunately I work too far away to visit them in the middle of the day. They are also a bit on the mischievous side and can be prone to bickering so they need to be crated when not supervised so a mid-​day visit is a must.
When a dog walker I contracted with backed out after the first week claiming we weren’t in their service area (though their website clearly said we were and they had been to my house for a visit prior to agreeing to take the job) I was in a bind and luckly found SSS. Carrie was very understanding and got us set up quickly and replaced the other dog walker within a week.
They are consistent every day and are the only ones I would trust to take care of my animals when out of town.
My dogs CLEARLY love them. In fact, I happened to be out of work early last week so I got home before Danielle the walker got there so when she arrived I told her I didn’t need her (they are so good to us I figured she’d like a little time in her day back). Danielle was clearly bummed she wasn’t going to get to hang out with my dogs because like all of the people at SSS, she legitimately loves spending time with my animals. That’s extremely important to me. More importantly, when my dogs realized that she was there and then left without seeing them they lost their minds. They were crying and whining and running around the house and yard looking for her. I don’t know of any testimonial that can beat that. They aren’t even that upset when I leave.
If you’re looking for a team that will not just spend time with your pets but also love and care for them and build an incredible bond that I’m sure my dogs enjoy with them, SSS is the walking /​sitting service for you.

Our first child was a difficult to walk Ridgeback, Tara was amazing with our Ike and he really enjoyed his walks with her. We have used this company for Walks, Pet Sitting, and Camp Carrie! And we are pleased with all services. Our new 10 month old puppy loves going to Camp Carrie and comes home exhausted! I would give 10 Stars if I could!

Absolutely love these guys. This review is loooong overdue as I have been using them for several years now. I wouldn’t even dream of cheating on them, for fear that my dogs might hate me. I have two dogs Coco and Charlie, they each come with their own issues, as do I, their mom. Charlie can be a bit aggressive with other dogs while on leash. It always made me so nervous to leave them in anyone’s care, UNTIL I met Carrie. She walked right into my house and dealt with Charlie like a pro. I have no hesitation in leaving them for a week because I know they will be cared for so well.
In the past, pre see spot sit, I would come home after a vacation and C&C would tackle me to the ground. Post see spot sit, I walk in and they barely lift their heads to look at me. I used to think WTF?! But I realize its the sign that they were cared for just as I would have. It was as if I was never gone. Now that reaction makes me grateful and happy to have found such a great match for my pups.

Please, I want them allll to myself and so does my Cocker Spaniel Roscoe who only loves girls and they have a lot of them.
Unlike my dogs 0_​o… I don’t like to p00p where I eat so I held off on writing a review because out of respect for See Spot Sit, I wanted to give them a history of excellent service. A year ago a dear friend of mine saw Carrie walking a few dogs by his house off of University. He was contemplating hiring Carrie’s Squad but ended up having his sis take care of his beloved Maya. He kept recommending S3 to me, until I asked him «sooo if you think they are so great why don’t you use them?» He told me that he saw Carrie and a staff member walking dogs every day and that they seemed very sweet and kind.
Our previous dog sitter was a sh*t show. He let let my cocker who has very long legs which has earned him the name of «Dopey Bryant» JUMP up on our kitchen table (unexceptable) and tear up my mail when my husband was on travel. I came home to a complete mess.
Carrie and her staff are professional dog handlers. This past year of hiring them, I come home to tired and happy dogs. My cocker LOVES the girls and our latest edition who is a rescue loves them too. They have taken care of my dogs for the past year and I am completely satisfied with their service. Today, I came home from work early to work from home, they were so happy to see me and so completely tired. They will walk your dogs for half an hour, clean up the poop and leave you a nice note.

I cannot express how much I love the See Spot Sit team! I have used them for well over a year and they are most dependable! It’s like having a family member come play with my pups during the day. I am unable to come home at lunch and having Carrie and her team take care of my pups at lunch has been well worth the cost. No accidents in the house when I return. Plus, I always get a sweet note telling me how the dogs did on the walk that day including whether or not they peed or pooped. That is essential information!
I cannot recommend them highly enough and it’s a bummer I’m only able to leave a 5 star review…

I love See Spot Sit!!! Carrie is awesome and she has a great team with great energy! Winston (my fur kid) and I are soooo happy we found them. In the short time we have been using their dog walking service my pups anxiety has decreased immensely! I work a lot (like most of us) and it would kill me all day when I thought about my little man at home alone, just waiting for me, and probably having to pee really bad! Since they have been coming to walk Winston both he and I are much happier, I am able to give my full attention to my clients and Winston knows that when I leave he will have a friend to come take him out and give him some lovins :)
I get a note with each visit, but for sure the best is how relaxed Winston is when I get home. The socialization with another person to be his special person is great!
I couldn’t have asked for more, I highly recommend calling them if you are looking for some amazing people to care for your fur kid when life takes you away from them.
