We’re a La Jolla based studio specializing in weddings and people. They are Brett & Liz. Two photographers both carrying BA degrees in Professional photography from the Prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. Brett’s concentration was in Commercial Photography and Liz concentrated on Advertising. What does this mean for you? Brett is a fun loving people person who finds the great moments in life and freezes them forever. Liz has an attention to detail that is unsurpassed and thrives on product shots and detail shots. This means on wedding day all those beautiful details you spend months preparing will not slip by unnoticed or captured. Tyes of Photography they offer are Wedding coverage, Stylish pet photography, Modern Family Portraits, Corporate head shots, Advertising campaigns, and Catalogue shoots. We have a small studio but prefer to shoot on location. We also have a huge soft spot for Dogs so come on by the studio and pick up an organic treat for them.

History

Established in 2009.

We began shooting for clients even while were attending school. Upon graduation we relocated to Los Angeles for about two years. We found South Pasadena to wonderful but really our heart belonged to San Diego. Liz Grew up here and it just seemed like we were delaying the inevitable by not moving down sooner. So we packed up out three little dogs and made the move down to Liz’s home town of La Jolla. Once settled we began the search for an office space that would reflect who were were stylistically as well as be a wonderful place to work and meet with clients. So after a lengthy remodel we finally settled in to our new digs and absolutly love it. We began our careers pursuing commercial photography but with the economic downturn there was very little work. Although we did get lots of requests to cover wedding and do portraits of babies, as well as peoples pets. So with this information in hand we began our studio and have not looked back. Photography is our passion.

Business Owner

Brett picked up his first camera in high school and fell in love with B&W printing and the dark room. It was there he won a few awards for his talents at a national level. After High School he decided that he wanted to keep his passion for Photography alive and keep it as a hobby. After many different years and jobs including nightclub and retail management, real estate and re-​modeling he decided at the age of 27 that he needed to passionate about what he did for a living and enrolled in Brooks Institute of Photography to pursue a degree in Professional Photography. While in School he took advantage of many different opportunities that were presented to him to assist and intern for top industry professionals. As well as begin to develop relationships with his own clients While there he met the love of his life, Liz. Once they began shooting together, they realized very quickly that they had similar eyes and worked best as a team. And so began Siegel Thurston Photography.
