This review is a YEAR overdue, but that will only benefit potential clients because you get the long-​view on the work Seattle Construction does — we give 5 stars 18 months later.
We purchased our current home in Sept 2014. With three kids ages 1 – 3 years old, we needed our large side yard fenced in for safety, and I like a little privacy when we’re outside all day long. I contacted four companies, another one of which was great, but older and more set in its ways.
When I met Russ, I was blown away by his personable attitude, his ability to listen to what I am really saying (and as a stay-​at-​home-​mom, I can attest that most of the time, people presume instead of listen to the words that are coming out of my mouth). Russ was also interested in working with our budget, and he welcomed pics I had taken of fences we liked. His paperwork was thorough and easy to read through. Dates were understandable.
We put in 120+ feet of fencing at three yard sides, up and down uneven terrain, and with two gates for easy person access and easy lawnmower access.
Here’s the CRAZY part. Girnardi, the builder, put the whole thing up over three days. This period included ripping out a major hedge to make room for the fence, setting the posts and letting them settle, and constructing the fence itself. My kids and I loved watching him work (what preschooler doesn’t love construction?) because he was so quick, efficient, and smooth. Before we knew it, the fence was up and the dibris gone.
The fence itself is beautiful and strong. It has held up to the very very hot 2015 summer and the typical PNW perpetual winter rain. We chose not to stain it, per many conversations with Russ, since the cedar is designed to repel insects and mold, it would be a costly and annoying-​to-​upkeep aesthetic-​only action.
We are now trying to add stairs to a deck as the original owners never thought it was necessary. Of course, that means we’ve turned to Russ and Seattle Construction. We also have had a fourth kid since the fence was built, so we have a constant rotation of friends, neighbor’s dogs, little kids, sand, dirt, artwork taped up, balls and bats hit and thrown, etc., and all our friends say the fence is one of the best things we did to the house (and we’ve done a lot of cool things). It defines the ambiguous side yard, lets all our kids play safely while we enjoy the occasional adult beverage with dinners, and more.

After buying a 27 year old house in Woodinville that needed a new exterior paint job and new gutters, I turned to Unilocal to find a highly rated company. That’s how I found Seattle Construction, and all the 5 star reviews were spot on. Russ and his team were fantastic, and our house looks amazing. Completely transformed. First they removed the old leaking gutters, then they painted the house and then they put on the new gutters. Throughout the process Russ kept us updated constantly via emails and phone calls, and he stopped by numerous times to check on the progress. He always responded to me within an hour. I would HIGHLY recommend his company, and we will be using them again to replace our aging windows.

Russ and his crew reroofed my house in May. I couldn’t be happier with the service I received before, during and after the project. The reroof was completed in a timely manner, and the clean up was very thorough, by an excellent, hard working crew. The appearance and function are top notch.
To reiterate other reviews, Russ is courteous, responsive and professional. I am confident that he stands behind his work. I would recommend him without qualification for your home improvement project.

Wow another great job from Russ and his team! Last year we had them replace a fence and put in a new railing for front steps, and they did a great job. I called Russ again because we needed some new hand railings built for the back of the house and a privacy fence on the top deck. These guys want you to be totally happy so the go out of there way to please the customer. We will continue to use this company for there outstanding workmanship and customer service.

Had a great experience working with Russ and his team on installing new windows for my house. Very reasonable price (I was able to negotiate), great quality of customer service and products. Will definitely contact them again if we have other house projects in the future.

We recently had all the windows in our house replaced. Russ and crew were absolutely excellent to work with every step of the way. Incredibly professional, flexible and easy. I can’t recommend them enough. If everyone ran their company like Russ does, the world would be a better place!

WOW! 5 years ago we had Seattle Construction do our roof and we were impressed. Now, we just had them do our exterior painting and we continue to be impressed! Seattle Construction is definitely a top-​notch company. Russ Oja and his crew are not only professional, but they are trust-​worthy. Despite the Northwest rain, their crew was ready to go with the first stretch of sunshine. They not only prepped the house, but they cleaned up after themselves — their attention to detail when painting our house was fantastic. We have gotten so many compliments and our house looks completely different just by changing the paint color. Russ has a gift of communicating with his clients and making sure that we know what is going on at every step of the project. They were so easy to deal with.
They were quick, efficient, professional, and the price was more than reasonable. Thank you, Russ, for meeting all of our home improvement needs!

We needed a fence built in our backyard. I usually don’t give 5 stars, but I feel Russ and his crew earned it. I had called 4 fence companies (Including this one). 1 of them never called me back. 2 of them had me speak with 2 different people and made me an apt 2 – 3 weeks out for an estimate. Russ got back to me right away, and I didn’t even need to be home to have my estimate done, which was great with my schedule. The fence was built in 2 weeks and it looks great! Russ was very easy to work with, professional, communicated in a timely fashion, and produced a great product. His company also cleaned the siding on my home so it looks new! I highly recommend Russ and his team and plan to use them in the future for any other construction needs.

Once again Russ and his crew have come through for us! We hired this company to do our gutters this past fall and they did such a great job that we hired them again to do our roof. There was a tiny glitch when it was discovered there was another layer on our roof, but Russ was able to order the new materials quickly and our job was not delayed, it was actually finished early. Russ is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions and concerns, and we felt very informed. The crew did an amazing job cleaning up and the new roof looks fantastic. We would definitely recommend Russ and crew without any hesitation.

Excellent phone service. Very responsive both on phone and email. Prompt and professional. Great job cleaning moss from our roof and outside window cleaning. Cleaned up after himself and hardly could tell he was there except for a clean roof and windows. I would definitely recommend.

I don’t have a lot to say — and that’s a good thing. I had a leaky roof. Russ came out and gave me an estimate and explained the whole process — super nice through the whole thing. His team were total pros. They came, put in the new roof and left without a trace. The new roof is sweet by the way. They were also nice enough to toss away some old carpet I had lying outside.
Russ and his team did what they said they were going to do and that’s really all there is to it.

As a person who spent a bit of time getting a few quotes, all of which were quite close in price, I went with Russ and Seattle Construction due to their highest level of customer service. That was until they completed the job, above and beyond all expectations, which then left me feeling like I went with them for the entire package.
Once my first email went out for a request, the quick and kind response from Russ sealed the deal. The others had all given me many weeks out for production, while Russ did everything he could to fit me into my very short needed timeline. He was attentive, personable, and managed to fit me into a very busy schedule and with such follow up I was in awe.
Now, please take note that Seattle Construction supported every bit of their amazing customer service with even more superior work. My gutters were done precisely and all was cleaned to a T upon departure and all looked super. I now have zero leaks, clogs, or damaging gutters hanging.
To have both ingredients of great service and exemplary work is a rarity. This is why they have my business for life.

Russ, the owner, was so professional and showed up when he said he would. That is a big plus in the contractor world! He even came back a second time to bring the guy out that was going to do the work to make sure it was possible and the right price. We have a steel roof, so a lot of people won’t clean it.
They showed up on time.
They cleaned the roof, gutters and all my decks and did a fantastic job. There price was very fair and a lot less than some other bids I got. They cleaned everything up.
My dock and patios look like new. The crew and owner are fantastic. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

I have called upon this company several times over the past few years for services ranging from a new roof, roof repairs, roof cleaning, and fencing. I have always been impressed by the customer service and attention to details by Russ and his crew. The quality of workmanship is terrific. I intend to call upon this company again and again in the future and I would highly recommend anyone else to do the same!

I can’t say enough good things about Seattle Construction and Russ. I recently bought my house and wanted two gates installed. I contacted several other companies for estimates at first. Of the scant few that would return my calls and emails, I received condescending explanations that my job was too small, scheduled estimate appointments for weeks in the future at inconvenient times, or estimates that seemed high and unclear.
Russ returned my inquiry right away and was able to give me an estimate within a few days. The estimate was very reasonable and clearly spelled out. I met with him again to talk through exactly what I wanted and where I wanted the gates placed. Not only was he polite and courteous but he explained what he planned to do and why, which I found very helpful. Within a week I had two secure and sturdy gates that also happen to be ten times more attractive than I imagined.
I am so happy with the work done by Seattle Construction that I would recommend them to anyone for jobs large or small, and fully intend to use them again in the future when the need arises.

I have to give Seattle Construction 5 stars because they provide truly exceptional service for a reasonable price. I currently manage multiple properties in the Seattle area and was in need of some window replacements and deck renovations/​repairs. Russ was very easy to work with and evaluated/​completed the jobs in a very timely manner. I really appreciate the customer service as I have dealt with many companies in the past regarding similar issues and there is usually a long waiting period before you can even have someone come out to provide an evaluation. I highly recommend this company and will be working with them in the future.

I needed to get my roof cleaned and replace my gutters. Other companies said they could come give me an estimate in 3 – 4 weeks, but Russ came out the same day. His estimate was thorough and reasonable. He left samples of the different colors of gutters for us to try and match our existing trim so that we didn’t have to paint afterwards. We got an exact match, saving us a fortune in painting now and in the future.
I scheduled a date for them to come clean the roof. They came that day and did a good job, including fixing a couple of loose roof caps the sealing a vent.
The gutters came in a couple of weeks later and they installed them while I was at work. When I got home, the gutters were not the same color as the downspouts. I called Russ after I got home and he came out that same night to see what was up. He agreed there was a problem and took some pictures to send to the factory. He called a couple days later to say that the factory admitted they made a mistake and they sent out new gutters. Once installed, it was perfect.
Even though there was a problem, it was a factory mistake, and Russ followed through on making it right.

I have a place in Seattle and found Seattle Windows and Construction to do some repairs. I was super impressed with how fast the service was and their work was top notch. I would call them again for repairs in a heartbeat! I would recommend this company to everyone.

I live in a rental property and my landlord is pretty hands off. For the few major repairs/​replacements I’ve needed the last few years he has trusted me to get quality quotes from quality businesses and then he chooses the best option.
I prefer to shop local but after meeting 4 different reps. and their quotes I found Seattle Windows and Construction to be the most comfortable to communicate with and their bid was very pleasing!
After the install I have to say I’m extremely impressed with their quality and speed of service.
I would totally recommend this these guys to everyone.
